Copyright and Image Notice

Our own content
The name Lux Lanka, our logo, and the text, itineraries, layouts, graphics, original photography and video on luxlanka.lu belong to us or are used under licence.
You’re welcome to view, download and print material from this site for your own personal use, as long as you keep any copyright notices intact. Anything else — republishing, redistributing, adapting, or using it in advertising or another commercial context — needs our written permission first.
Third-party images
Sri Lanka is a widely photographed country, and some of the imagery here wasn’t created by us. It may come from licensed stock libraries, from our travel partners — hotels, transport operators, guides and activity providers who’ve given permission for us to show the services they supply — or from guests who’ve shared their own photographs with us.
All rights in that material stay with the original photographer, artist or rights holder. Its appearance here doesn’t transfer any rights to us or to you, doesn’t imply that the rights holder endorses Lux Lanka, and doesn’t entitle you to reuse it. We credit material to its source wherever we hold that information, and we don’t license, sell or authorise its reuse by visitors to this site.
Third-party names, logos and trademarks appearing here — hotel brands, airlines, national parks, social media platforms — belong to their owners and are used for identification only. Their use doesn’t imply any affiliation or endorsement.
Images of people
We publish photographs showing identifiable people only where they’ve agreed, or where the image came from a rights holder who confirmed the necessary permissions were in place. If you appear in an image here and didn’t agree to it, or you’ve changed your mind, contact us and we’ll remove it.
If you think we’ve used your work
Tell us and we’ll act promptly. You don’t need to instruct a lawyer or start proceedings to have material removed.
Email luxlankadevelop@gmail.com with “Copyright notice” in the subject line, and include:
- The exact URL of the page, and which image, video or text you mean
- A link to where your work is published, or a copy, so we can compare
- Evidence that you own or control the rights — a licence, an invoice, original camera files
- Your name and contact details
- What you’d like us to do: remove it, credit you, agree a licence, or something else
We’ll acknowledge your message within five working days. We’ll then either remove the material, add the credit you’ve asked for, or explain in writing why we believe the use is permitted. Where the position isn’t clear or will take longer to resolve, we’ll take the material down while we look into it — that isn’t an admission of infringement. We aim to finish within ten working days of acknowledging your notice.
Where the material came from a supplier or stock library, we’ll raise it with them too and, where appropriate, tell you who supplied it.
If you think we’ve removed something in error, email us with an explanation and evidence of your right to use it, and we’ll restore it where the objection holds up.
A note on mistakes
We take reasonable care to make sure everything published here is properly licensed or permitted, but given the volume of imagery and the number of suppliers involved, mistakes are possible. Nothing here is intended to infringe anyone’s rights, and where we’re told about a problem we’ll fix it ourselves, without charge. Nothing in this notice limits any right a rights holder has.
